What should I consider when looking for new set golf equipment?
VGS Golf has written an article to answer your question. Here is a bit of it and you can find the rest of the article on the Website at VGS Golf.
How do I find a qualified club fitter? I would retort with how do you find other professionals like doctors, dentists, etc.? Ask other fellow golfers, your friends and co-workers about experiences they had had good or bad. Also contact local golf shops and ask to speak to a qualified fitter. Ask him or her how the process of the club fitting will go and make sure you are comfortable with the professional. Once you have found your golf club fitter, it is important that you armed with the proper questions to ask your fitter. In addition, remember the fitter is there to help you so do not be afraid to ask any question you might have. The proper questions to ask prior to or during your fitting are as follows:
· Is the professional certified by a major manufacturer to fit their clubs?
· How experienced is the PGA Professional?
· Will I be fit outdoors to see the entire ball flight?
· Does the PGA Professional have a fitting cart or multiple fitting carts with what you are looking for (Mens, Ladies, steel, graphite, right-handed, left-handed clubs) available?
· What will the session cost?
· If I purchase the clubs from you, will the cost of the club fitting be put towards the purchase?
· Will a launch monitor be used during the session?
· How the professional came to the conclusion of your specs? Make sure you understand how the conclusion is achieved and make sure you understand the logic.

Golf Club Fitting For Women
I am a female that recently started taking golf seriously. How do I find someone who will do a golf club fitting for women?
Most women that play golf could improve their scores and their handicap if they had a proper ladies golf club fitting and used a set of custom built golf clubs. Although this may sound expensive, it can cost what you what it to cost. As competitive as the golf market currently is, many golf shops will do a golf club fitting for women for free as long as you order the clubs from them. Once you have your proper measurements, you do not need the expensive top of the line clubs. you need clubs that fit YOU!
The article Clubfitting 101 will give you all the information that you need to find a qualified club fitter as well as the proper questions to ask a club fitter.

Find The Yardages For How Far You Hit Each Club In Your Bag
I am a middle handicapper and I have a question. I recently heard a term that I had not heard before. I friend of mine was excited because he was going to be put on a launch monitor and would be "gapping his irons." What is he going to be doing?
The term "gapping your irons" is another way to say find the yardages on how far you hit each club in your bag. You can do this by using a golf ball launch monitor or the old fashioned way, by walking them off.

Golf Club Fitting - Grip
I am looking at getting a new set of irons this spring. My question is about the grip. How do I know if the grip properly fits me?
First, I would suggest that you read the articles Club Fitting 101 and Golf Club Fitting Basics. Once you have done your research on who should be club fitting you in your area, this person can give you the best direction as they will see your ball flight and more importantly your hands! I will say that the general rule of thumb this that your last three fingers of your left hand (for a right-handed golfer) should just be touching your palm. With this being said, your fingers should not be digging into your palm but just touching.
Email us back and let us know what happens or if you have any other questions.
